Funday Favorites #2 | A little bit of everything.

Sunday, April 28, 2013

Hello, lovely ladies! First of all, I want to address my absence from blogging. I'm sorry for not posting for a while. Am I the only one constantly running out of ideas? Hopefully not. Well, I plan on getting back and trying my hardest to post. :)

This week I did some major shopping and got almost everything I wanted - a new summer dress and tons of necessities from the drugstore. I plan on getting one or two lipsticks next, I will inform you as soon as I do :)
And now onto my favorites:

TV SHOW: Grey's Anatomy | The first favorite this week (and the previous one, since I didn't post) was Grey's Anatomy. If you think that after 9 seasons they should run out of interesting ideas for the show, think again. The show always catches my attention and leaves me wanting more. I love the whole hospital scenery as well as some drama and love stories involved in the doctor's life. If you never watched it - you should!

MAKE-UP: Lipsticks | I don't know what has gotten into me but recently I started craving more lipsticks. In my very poor collection I have only one, and that one being very poorly formulated and not at all nice on the lips. Also, the pink color doesn't suit me very well. It sets into the lines on the lips and they look not nicer but dryer. Who wants that? No one. The only problem is that good lippies can cost a lot here. And as a teenager I don't make much money which results to buying none. Well, hopefully I will save a little and find cheaper but good alternatives!

SCENT: Fruity | I'm always know as the one that loves anything coconut or vanilla scented. Don't get me wrong - I still love it. But recently I started getting a lot more into anything fruity scented. Shower gels, bath bombs, candles... Maybe it's the whole spring/summer spirit getting into me lately? Probably yes.

Have you got any lipstick suggestions? Or TV shows to recommend? Feel free to leave them in the comments!

Funday Favorites #2 | Youtube, Skincare, Beauty.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

Hello! It's a sunny Sunday afternoon and I thought I would share my favorites finds and things for this week!

  • My favorite Beauty Youtuber this week has to be SaturdayNightsAlrite! I discovered her a few weeks ago and have been obsessing over her videos this week. I love her personality, the way she talks and her beauty and style choices are awesome. She isn't afraid to tell her opinion about things and you can see the real her in her videos. Check her out!
  • Another favorite of mine has been Skincare. As soon as I got my moisturizer and cleanser (featured here) I got a lot more interested in keeping my skin nice. It's a pretty good motivation for me because I love trying something new, not always have the money for it, though. I've been trying to drink a lot more green tea instead of coffee in the morning, too and I noticed that my skin is slowly getting in a better condition. These things together are amazing for skin.
  • This blog is one of my favorites of the week, too. I'm slowly getting into some kind of regime to post more frequently and been getting feedback for that. I love all 6 of my followers. It isn't much but it's something! I never thought even one would want to read my thoughts, especially when English is not my first language.
  • Weather is warming up also. Sun is coming out more and snow is slowly melting, even if it snows a lot one day, it can be semi-gone the next. I don't like the sudden changes, I want spring for sure. Spring fashion and make-up trends are all that I'm about and I'm still stuck with warm winter coats and snow boots...
That's it. Hope you liked my silly ramblings and thoughts. Just a chill post for your Sunday. Have a great week ahead!

Recent Purchases #1

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Hello again! Today I'm posting my recent purchases I made last week and I thought I would share with you all these 4 products I really enjoy trying out and testing!

FREEMAN Refining Facial Cleanser - I was in a need of a cleanser since I never used one, I always stuck with other facial products. I spotted this in a drugstore one day with a very pretty price tag on it and I knew I had to try it. It is said improve skins condition for a smoother, silkier skin. Also to clean it of all excess make-up on your face after removing it and leave your skin prepped for moisturizer afterwards. It has salicylic acid which helps to reduce blemishes and make your skin more clear.

A MINCER PHARMA Moisturizing Day and Night Cream - I was in the drugstore in a terrible need of a new moisturizer because my skin is super dry all year around. I had a few but they all didn't work on me at all - either left my skin feeling just the way it was before or had a terrible smell or even dried up my skin even more. I was searching through and spotted this. It caught my eye because I've never heard/seen this brand before and apparently it was new. It had a range of a few moisturizers, most of them meant for mature skin with the help to reduce wrinkles but it was completely not what I was looking for until I found this. This is said to eliminate free radicals, exfoliate and regenerate epidermis to give the skin a healthy and radiant look and also moisturize even very dry skin.  The cream contains pear extract, mint and argan oil which, in my opinion, are all very beneficial to the skin. Itself it's not a thick, even cream that quickly sinks into my skin, leaving no residue. If put on at night I wake up with smooth, soft skin. No dryness problems until now and I couldn't be happier.

CATRICE Gel Eyeliner in Cruise Couture (Limited Edition) - Drugstore had this marked down after the limited edition has ended and I picked it up because I wanted to try it. It is very dark blue, almost black matt gel liner. Creamy and rich, easy to apply, pretty pigmented. Nothing bad to say, since I haven't tried any other gel liners. Maybe it's terrible after all? :D

ESSENCE Kajal Pencil in 19 All I Want - Picked this up mainly to use for my eyebrows. It's your basic, creamy brown eyeliner pencil and it gives my brows the defined but natural look. Very easy to apply since it goes on like a dream being pretty creamy itself.

I know it's not a lot but I hope you enjoyed reading. Let me know if you want any separate reviews and I'll be sure to post them. ♥

Beauty Review | Essence "Get Big Lashes" Volume Curl Mascara

Monday, April 1, 2013

Hello, lovelies! So here I am, with my first beauty review. I've been waiting for this moment for so long - to share my thoughts and feelings on certain products is my favorite thing among my friends and I love reading reviews (of products that I can actually find where I live which is not that many in the blogosphere) so I thought I should combine these things! But not to blab anymore - here it is:

I've tried a lot of different mascaras in my lifetime and they helped me figure out what I look for in a mascara and the main thing is length. Even though my natural lashes are quite long I love length way more than volume. And here I am, reviewing volumizing mascara.
Well, first thing that I noticed when looking at all kinds of different mascaras at the Essence counter are the wands. My last mascara was also one of the Essence's ones and I loved it so I knew I wanted to try more from this particular brand.

The formula of this mascara is quite odd and I didn't think I will like it at first. It's very wet and can be a trouble to work with since it can easily get on your lids while applying. Nothing a couple of cotton swabs couldn't wipe away, though. Also, it takes a little bit of time to dry on your lashes but not more than 10 seconds. If you are a fan of wet mascaras - this one's for you. I believe that after a couple more weeks it will start to dry up and be much easier to work with.

As for the wand - it's amazing. In the picture above you can see how clumpy it looks but I haven't had any problem with clumps what so ever, it's probably because of it's liquid-ness and a lack of dosator in a tube it won't stick to the wand. The wand is slightly curved which gives a little more control when it comes to picking up lashes from the very bottom. It's also very big and can cover all of my lashes in one swipe but I like to add a little more length to the corners.
Because of all of this it gives an amazing effect. I've received a ton of compliments on my lashes being super long and separated and that's exactly what I was looking for in a mascara.

I hope this review was somewhat helpful, I'm not a pro in writing these so leave any questions or suggestions in a comments bellow so I could do better next time.

Nails of the day #1 | Polka-dotted

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

March 12th, 2013 | Tuesday

As I was scrolling through various social networking sites the other day I came across this nail art design which seemed so easy and simple to make and I'm not good at anything even a little bit hard when it comes to my nails due to my laziness of course. I'm a huge lover of polka-dotted anything and this nail art just screamed me so I sat down in my comfy bed after a while of picking colors from my collection. And what is better than to share it?

First of all, decide on colors. In my opinion it's better to go with the same color family. I picked greens. Well, the ring finger is not exactly green but it has some green-ish undertones. You can obviously pick whatever you like, it could be all different colors for all I care, it's just my personal preference.

Now, start painting your nails. I did two coats of Essence's "Exits on your right" on each of my finger and 2 coats of Nail System's 439 on my ring finger. You can do different color on ring finger and thumb for instance if you would like to :) Let your polish to completely dry before going further.

Now onto the fun part - polka dots. I used the same green color to semi-match my ring finger to the rest of my nails and another bright neon green polish by Safari. You can use the dotting tool if you have one. Well, I don't. Another alternative is to use tooth picks but I used them once and polka dots turned out way to big and I didn't have any control. For this design I used matches. Dip matches head (the part that you light) into the nail polish and while taking out carefully scrape the corners onto the nail polish bottle. If you can see that you have too much lightly scrape the head. Now just dot onto the finger, repeating the dipping if you have to. Make sure that you have enough polish on the match so it wouldn't be a dot without a middle.

Lastly, let the dots dry a bit and put a top coat. I used Essence's Quick Dry top coat for this.

That's it! You're done! Hope you try this nail art thingy yourself and post your pics in the comments so I could see them ♥

Monday Musings #1

Monday, March 4, 2013

Hello, dear readers! I'm finally sitting down to write a proper blog post and I came up with something new. Monday Musings are a new series I came up with. I wanted something more than Monday Questionnaire and I decided to combine two things - Questionnaire and some general thoughts from me at the end. I would tell about my week, my plans and hopes for upcoming week and so on. I thought this would be much more interesting and not as plain, also, I would get a chance to see if I achieved everything I hoped for.

  • Mood? I'm actually in a hurry. I have a test tomorrow and a lot of homework but I just really really wanted to write a post. Despite the hurrying I'm calm.
  • Did you do anything fun this weekend? Worked and hung out with friends. Nothing much.
  • What is the closest object to you that is pink? Pink coffee mug.
  • Current nail polish? Lilac color that you can see on my nails in the sidebar's Instagram section :)
  • Current outfit? Black sweater and sweat pants. Studying attire ;)
  • What was the last book you read/what are you currently reading? Still haven't finished Insurgent. I've worked a lot these few weeks.
  • What was the last movie you saw? How was it? I watched 3 Day Weekend with my best friend and my boyfriend in my room. Well, that was a bit awkward. The movie turned out to be about gay men hanging out. I'm not really into movies about gay people.
  • Current weather? Cold as hell. It's supposed to be spring, right? It's like the middle of winter. Still below 0 outside.
  • What was the last thing you ate? Pasta ♥
  • Weekly goals. Attend a lot more practices. I've been neglecting them due to work and I'll try my best to get better and actually try to achieve something more.
This week was hectic. My routine was - wake up, eat, go to school, get back, eat, go to work, get back, do homework, sleep. No spare time. No anything. I was barely standing up when I got back, let alone doing homework with my eyes half closed. In spite of that I did quite great at school but yes, there were no tests this past week so I managed somehow. I've set up a more open schedule for work this week and I'll try to get back into the swing of things. I'm still quite tired...
Well, we'll see how that goes, right? Time to really get to studying, a lot of memorizing for biology. Wish me luck! x
